I bet you could sometimes find all the mysteries of the universe in someones hand.

To think of our prayers as just causes would suggest that the whole importance of petitionary prayer lay in the achievement of the thing asked for. But really for our spiritual life as a whole the being taken into account or considered matters more than the being granted. Religious people dont talk about the results of prayer they talk of its being answered or heard.... We can bear to be refused but not to be ignored. In other words our faith can survive many refusals if they really are refusals and not mere disregards. The apparent stone will be bread to us if we believe that a Fathers hand put it into ours in mercy or in justice or even in rebuke.

People who fit dont seek. The seekers are those that dont fit.

Whenever you cant balance what you see with what you believe you have conflict.

People will tell you that youre broken. Dont believe them. They were not the person that could help you. They have not walked your path. God has got a plan to bring people into your life that have lived through a similar hell. In the end it isnt the number of people that are on your side. It is the people that understand what your side is that matters.

Your positive thoughts are both the prayer and the answer to your prayer.

I dont know where dreams come from. Sometimes I wonder if theyre genetic memories or messages from something divine. Warnings perhaps. Maybe we do come with an instruction booklet but were too dense to read it because weve dismissed it as the irrational waste product of the rational mind. Sometimes I think all the answers we need are buried in our slumbering subconscious int he dreaming. The booklet right there and ever night when we lay our heads down on the pillow it flips open. The wise read it heed it. The rest of us try as hard as we can upon awakening to forget any disturbing revelations we might have found there.

When I lay these questions before God I get no answer. But a rather special sort of No answer. It is not the locked door. It is more like a silent certainly not uncompassionate gaze. As though He shook His head not in refusal but waiving the question. Like Peace child you dont understand.
