For there are two kinds of forgiveness in the world the one you practice because everything really is all right and what went before is mended. The other kind of forgiveness you practice because someone needs desperately to be forgiven or because you need just as badly to forgive them for a heart can grab hold of old wounds and go sour as milk over them.

What I cannot love I overlook.

Love like rain can nourish from above drenching couples with a soaking joy. But sometimes under the angry heat of life love dries on the surface and must nourish from below tending to its roots keeping itself alive.

Thus with my lips have I denounced you while my heart bleeding within me called you tender names.It was love lashed by its own self that spoke. It was pride half slain that fluttered in the dust. It was my hunger for your love that raged from the housetop while my own love kneeling in silence prayed your forgiveness.

I have learned that the person I have to ask for forgiveness from the most is myself. You must love yourself. You have to forgive yourself everyday whenever you remember a shortcoming a flaw you have to tell yourself Thats just fine. You have to forgive yourself so much until you dont even see those things anymore. Because thats what love is like.

Love may forgive all infirmities and love still in spite of them but Love cannot cease to will their removal.

The acceptance of oneself is the essence of the whole moral problem and the epitome of a whole outlook on life. That I feed the hungry that I forgive an insult that I love my enemy in the name of Christ -- all these are undoubtedly great virtues. What I do unto the least of my brethren that I do unto Christ. But what if I should discover that the least among them all the poorest of all the beggars the most impudent of all the offenders the very enemy himself -- that these are within me and that I myself stand in need of the alms of my own kindness -- that I myself am the enemy who must be loved -- what then As a rule the Christians attitude is then reversed there is no longer any question of love or long-suffering we say to the brother within us Raca and condemn and rage against ourselves. We hide it from the world we refuse to admit ever having met this least among the lowly in ourselves.

Be the one who nurtures and builds. Be the one who has an understanding and a forgiving heart one who looks for the best in people. Leave people better than you found them.

Ill understand if you dont want me. But I will be heartbroken. You are all I ever dreamed of and hoped for. You are much much more. Please know that I didnt think I was mean-minded. But I realize I am. I dont want you to put your arms around me and say its all right that you forgive me. I want you to be sure that you do and my love for you will last as long as I live. I can see no lightness no humour no joke to make. I just hope that we will be able to go back to when we had laughter and the world was coloured not black and white and grey.
